Now that Halloween is over and Mariah Carey has defrosted, the holiday season is officially upon us. The next two months are about to go zoom zoom zoom, but slowing down to enjoy seasonal recipes throughout November is the perfect way to savor the end of fall.
This Thanksgiving season, we’re eyeing comforting recipes that feature seasonal ingredients like mushrooms, squash, pumpkin (of course), and more. Many of the recipes shared below are the result of our editors’ meticulous Thanksgiving planning, but you can also find plenty of cozy weeknight recipes that come together quickly. "Every year for Thanksgiving, my family's holiday tradition is to make fresh pasta. Yes, the traditional turkey is always on the table, usually tucked away in the back corner while we all ohh and ahh over the pasta. In year's past it's been ravioli, papardelle, mezza luna, and even agnolotti. Within minutes of Daniel's lasagna alla norma recipe going live on the SE homepage, my mom emailed me saying 'We're making this as our pasta for Thanksgiving.' We'll take the time to roll out the sheets of fresh lasagna noodles, use up my mom's freezer stash of her summer garden tomato sauce, fry the eggplant, and assemble it the day before, ensuring less chaos in the kitchen on actual T-day. They are obviously not a main dish, and at a summer barbecue they don't even make sense as a side, but they were always there, no matter the season, and there were never, ever enough. Aunt Jenny would bake, these fluffy, yeasted rolls that people would squirrel away for themselves. Were they Parker House rolls? I don't know. I don't have the recipe and she won't give it to me. "My mouth waters every time I see a video of the infamous Dubai chocolate. Once we dropped this tart recipe inspired by the viral confection, I knew I would have to make it to get a taste of the irresistible combination of chocolate, pistachio, tahini, and kataifi pastry for myself.
